Privacy policy
Biopin is a map of life-science employers in India and the roles they are hiring for. It is run by Bversity. This page explains what information Biopin collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. If anything here is unclear, write to hi@bversity.io.
What we collect
When you create an account. Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we also receive the profile photo on that account. We do not receive your password for those services, your contacts or your work history.
When you fill in your profile. Anything you choose to add, such as your phone number, college, degree, specialisation, graduation year, city, interests, the cities you would move to, the kind of role you want, and whether we may contact you about openings.
When you use the map. The employers and roles you save, and the roles you mark as applied, so your shortlist is there when you come back.
When you sign up for role alerts. Your name, email, the department and city you are interested in, and your LinkedIn profile address if you give it.
When you check your fit for a role. Your resume is read inside your own browser. The file itself is never uploaded or stored. We save only what the check produces: your education level, years of experience, the skills it found and the roles that matched best, linked to your account if you are signed in.
When you visit. To understand how Biopin is used, your browser keeps a random identifier that is not linked to your name. With it we record the pages you open and the actions you take on the site, including searches that find no employers (so we know who to add), the website that sent you, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. We also record which version of the home page you were shown, because we compare two designs. We do not store your IP address or your location, and we use no advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep your saved employers, roles and profile.
- To show you roles and employers that match what you are looking for.
- To send you role alerts and other messages, but only the ones you asked for. You can stop them at any time.
- To understand which parts of Biopin are useful and improve them.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with employers. If we ever want to introduce you to an employer, we will ask you first.
Services we rely on
Biopin is built on a few outside services. Each one handles only what it needs to do its job.
- Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in. Our database is hosted in Supabase's Mumbai region.
- Cloudflare delivers the website to your browser.
- Google and LinkedIn confirm who you are when you choose to sign in with them.
- OpenFreeMap supplies the map images, Google supplies company logos and fonts, and cdnjs and jsDelivr supply some of the code the page runs. Your browser contacts these services directly to load those files, so they can see your IP address as part of that request.
Your choices
- You can see and edit your profile on Biopin at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct it or to delete your account and everything linked to it. We will do this within 30 days.
- You can turn off contact from Bversity in your profile, or by replying to any message we send.

How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Visit records that are not linked to an account are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted.
Children
Biopin is meant for students and professionals aged 18 and over. If you believe someone younger has given us their information, please tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell signed-in members by email before it takes effect.
